Attending the Pineapple Awards
Last week Su and Jessie made it down to the Pineapples Awards as part of the Developer’s 2025 Festival of Place, it was a wonderful evening of celebration and a great opportunity to learn more about a collection of exciting projects and connect with people who are championing values close to our heart (community, climate and heritage).
Our work with Growing Sudley CIC was shortlisted for the Community Engagement Award, for work undertaken over the last 12 years, from initial pilot projects of the forest school to the larger hempcrete installation training workshop as part of the capital build on the changing rooms project. Working alongside Growing Sudley and their permaculture approach has been a true collaboration built with the community over a number of years to transform the site holistically into what it is today, but also importantly, developing that agency into longevity for the future such that ideas will always evolve and iterate in response to people and environment, which has become ingrained in their DNA and is a testament to their success as an organisation.
Whilst we didn’t scoop up a Golden Pineapple trophy, we did come away with a renewed sense of optimism and activation for change, strengthening our beliefs to continue to challenge the status quo - and enjoyed a few pineapple margaritas along the way!
A big thank you to the Pineapples for a special and welcoming event.
